Since March of this year, construction crews have been working hard to create the perfect space for The Artisan Craft Kitchen. After many weeks of construction (and a few bumps in the road), we are on schedule to open in August!
This week, crews completed the framing for the walls, raised plumbing lines, installed brackets for shelving and began installing the ceiling. Afterward, our space will be inspected to ensure that the building is up to code.
Over the next couple of weeks, the A/C unit will be tested – to make sure that you have a cool (and delicious) refuge from the scorching summer heat, the sheetrock will be hung and the floors will be installed. Once the construction is finished, our equipment (ovens, cabinets, stoves, etc.) will be delivered and installed. The Artisan will begin to look more like a restaurant!
Meanwhile, our team has been having a great time designing the aesthetic of the restaurant. John Gilbert, Owner of G Texas Catering and The Artisan, has been bringing samples of paint, tile, pictures of chairs and tables back to the office to discuss what everyone thinks.
